The Indiana Health Information Exchange is Indiana’s health data utility that provides a single, trusted source of patient information. IHIE powers better patient care for the state, connecting healthcare providers, informing public health decisions, and enabling savings in time, money, and lives. As a mission-driven partner, IHIE works alongside health systems, clinicians, public agencies, payers, and other stakeholders to turn data into action that improves health for all Hoosiers.
IHIE delivers critical assets for public health, Medicaid and providers; informs policy; and strengthens the health of all Hoosiers:
Public + Population Health Intelligence: IHIE provides real-time dashboards and analytics to monitor outbreaks, identify disparities, and track health trends.
Connects All Hoosiers—Urban + Rural, Privately Insured + Medicaid Recipients: IHIE ensures small hospitals, rural providers, and community clinics have the same access to statewide data as large health systems. This creates complete, equitable reporting and strengthens Indiana’s ability to address health disparities. It also strengthens the State Medicaid program because we make patients’ clinical data available to Medicaid providers, and likewise Medicaid shares claims data with IHIE.
Informs Leaders + Policy Impact: IHIE equips trusted, important insights for public health reforms and policy changes that make healthcare stronger across Indiana.
