We have been busy at the Indiana Health Information Exchange! Take a look at some highlights and accomplishments from the past year.

In 2017, IHIE exchanged 7 million transactions with other HIEs in Indiana and in neighboring states, realizing an increase of 50% from the previous year.

The INPC continues to grow every month. In August 2017 it connected 117 hospitals; 14,592 practices; and more than 42,215 providers. The INPC also securely holds more than 11,610,526,637 clinical data elements for more than 14,219,284 patients.

IHIE was ranked #71 in Modern Healthcare’s BEST PLACES TO WORK in 2017, and was included in the 2018 listings released in May. A ranked listing for 2018 will be available in September. We’re proud to be on the list for four years running!

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) recognized Chuck Christian, IHIE’s Vice President of Technology and Engagement, with the 2017 CHIME Outstanding Service Award.

John Kansky and Keith Kelley of IHIE were selected to present at HIMSS18 on the topic of interoperability. The presentation, “HIEs, CommonWell, Carequality Can Work Together: Here’s How,” covered how organizations can use multiple national interoperability solutions to meet their needs. TechPoint named FHIR HIEdrant as a candidate for Innovation of the Year for the 19th annual Mira Awards. FHIR HIEdrant is an innovative service developed collaboratively by IHIE, Regenstrief, and IU Health. It follows industry exchange standards to integrate health information exchange directly with the clinical workflow in Cerner. Winners of the Mira Awards were announced at the end of April.

Thanks to everyone for following along with us for the past year! Keep an eye out on Twitter and LinkedIn, and our email newsletter and Blog for future IHIE and industry happenings.
