For Physicians
The Quality Health First Program allows physicians to reconcile missing or inaccurate data to make patient-specific information as relevant and up-to-date as possible. The reports are designed and approved by participating physicians.
The program requires no electronic medical record system and there is no cost to physicians.
The Indiana Health Information Exchange has a support staff of physician liaisons who provide ongoing, one-on-one support to help practices identify ways to enhance interaction with their patients and provide consistent and meaningful opportunities to provide needed care and improve patient outcomes.
Major health plans have joined the program, aligning physician reimbursement to improvements in patient outcomes. Health plan participants include:
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
- UnitedHealthcare
- Unified Group Services
Faced with increasing federal mandates for health information technology Meaningful Use and reporting, the Quality Health First Program eliminates the complexity and eases the burden for providers to comply with certain rules outlined in the Healthcare Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.
