About IHIE

The Indiana Health Information Exchange is one of the nation's most respected health information exchange organizations. Health information exchange is a term used to describe the efficient exchange of medical records among doctors and hospitals, according to nationally recognized standards.

A non-profit, IHIE was formed in 2004 and is dedicated to supporting Indiana's communities by providing services that enable the right medical information to get to the right provider at the right time to enhance patient care.
